Policy on Corporate Forum Sessions
ASPHO may designate specific time slots during a conference as available for "Corporate Forum" sessions. These time slots will be designated in non-program hours, such as breakfast or dinner hours, and will not compete with any ASPHO programs. Official "Corporate Forum" session hours will be determined by the Program Planning Committee for each conference and will be published in the exhibitor prospectus and other
No other educational programs sponsored by another organization and directed at the same audience may be offered over the official dates of an ASPHO conference within 100 miles of the ASPHO conference location.
Proposals from industry to host a Corporate Forum session must be submitted to the ASPHO Sales Manager on the official "ASPHO Application Form for Corporate Forums." Applications will be reviewed and approved by the Program Planning Committee. A fee for hosting a Corporate Forum will be required from the company hosting the session in the form of an unrestricted educational grant to ASPHO in the amount of $30,000
Members of ASPHO's current board of trustees and Program Planning Committee may not serve as speakers or moderators of a Corporate Forum.
ASPHO will accept Corporate Forums that offer CME and those that do not offer CME. All Corporate Forums who offer CME credit must offer it through an ACCME-accredited sponsor. It will be the responsibility of each Corporate Forum organizer to secure the appropriate ACCME-accredited sponsorship. ASPHO will not arrange for joint sponsorship of Corporate Forums.
All expenses associated with Corporate Forums, such as speaker honoraria and expenses, food and beverage service, room set-up and clean-up, AV costs, etc., will be the sole responsibility of the organization sponsoring the Corporate Forum. All program logistics, including speaker coordination, program evaluation, etc., will be the responsibility of the organization sponsoring the Corporate Forum.
Corporate Forums will be listed in a designated section of ASPHO's conference brochures and program books, but not within the official program schedule. Invitations to Corporate Forums will be the responsibility of the organizer. Organizers of approved Corporate Forums will receive an ASPHO mailing list of members and/or a list of pre-registrants for the conference. Organizers of Corporate Forums may not use the ASPHO logo in any invitations or course materials. All invitations, course materials and handouts must be submitted to ASPHO Education Manager and Sales Manager for review and approval prior to the conference.
Organizers of Corporate Forums will provide summaries of participant evaluations to the ASPHO Education Manager after the conference. These will be forwarded to the Program Planning Committee.
Detailed "ASPHO Guidelines for Corporate Forums" will be sent to each applicant with the "ASPHO Application Form for Corporate Forums."
In the event that an annual meeting program requires multiple non-member/non pediatric hematologists/oncologists or for other reasons would require more funding (i.e. audience response system) the Program Committee could seek funding through a grant process, however the funds must be approved before the speaker of the session is accepted into the program. In the event that a session is proposed which requires additional cost and the funding is not secured in the appropriate time frame, the session could be considered for the following year if funds have been secured in the interim. It is likely that any funding sought to cover the costs of specific symposia will likely begin 2 years prior to a planned symposia due to the time it takes to secure funding.
Commercial and Other Support Terms and Conditions
Commercial and other supporters shall agree to the terms and conditions as defined in Standards for Commercial Support of Continuing Medical Education, ACCME's Essential Areas and Their Elements. All commercial and other support must be in the form of an educational grant to ASPHO. A signed agreement between ASPHO and the commercial or other supporter will be a part of the permanent activity file.
