The Power of Plasma Microbial Cell-Free DNA: Real World Application of a Liquid Biopsy for Febrile Neutropenia
This webinar will explore the application of metagenomic sequencing of plasma microbial cell-free DNA for the detection of pathogens associated with febrile neutropenia. The Karius Test, a liquid biopsy for infectious diseases, utilizes a single blood sample to identify over 1000 pathogens for various diagnostic purposes, including fever of unknown origin, invasive fungal infections, pneumonia, endocarditis, and febrile neutropenia.
Our featured speaker, Dr. Negar Ashouri, will review some of the published data and share insights on the optimal use of the Karius Test for febrile neutropenia. Dr. Ashouri will also share some of her own patient cases describing the clinical impact of the Karius Test in febrile neutropenia.
Speaker: Dr. Negar Ashouri is a board certified pediatrician and pediatric infectious disease specialist at Children’s Hospital, Orange County (CHOC).
