2021 Call for Papers and Posters
The ASPHO Conference Planning Committee invites the submission of abstracts for papers and posters to be presented at the 2021 ASPHO Conference, April 20-23 in Portland, OR.
The deadline to submit an abstract is Monday, January 11, 2021, at 4:00 pm Eastern Time.
ASPHO continues to move forward with preparations for the 2021 ASPHO Conference scheduled for April 20-23 in Portland, OR. Based upon the safety and health of our attendees, speakers, and staff, the Society is preparing for various contingencies should attendees and speakers not be able to attend the live, face-to-face conference. We are pleased to announce that the conference will include a virtual option with online access to interactive education sessions and abundant networking opportunities, whether there is an in-person meeting or not. Regardless of the meeting format, ASPHO will present the accepted papers and posters as part of the 2021 ASPHO Conference. ASPHO will continue to monitor the situation carefully and provide updates on the Annual Conference webpage.
Instructions for Online Abstract Submission
The goal is to solicit the very best, original basic, clinical, and social science abstracts that relate to the field of pediatric hematology and oncology. It is understood that any individual abstract may be part of an on-going project. Abstracts previously presented in whole or in part may be submitted to the ASPHO. However, these abstracts should be updated or modified in some way.
Material that has been or is expected to be published in manuscript form before the dates of the ASPHO meeting is not acceptable for presentation in either poster or paper formats.
- All communication will go to the Submitter.
- Abstracts are limited to 400 words. Tables and charts will not be accepted.

Conference Registration Guidelines for Presenters:
Paper and poster abstracts will be presented during concurrent session time blocks throughout the Conference. Papers and posters will be presented on Wednesday, April 21, Thursday, April 22, and Friday, April 23. Presentation times will be assigned at the time the abstract is accepted; authors cannot request a specific presentation date/time. Prior to submission of a paper or poster, at least one author must agree to attend the ASPHO meeting and to participate as the paper or poster presenter. ASPHO will not waive the registration fee for presenters. Presenters are responsible for all personal expenses (e.g., travel, hotel) and for conference registration fees.
Late Breaking Abstracts
ASPHO does not have a separate call for late breaking abstracts. All submissions must be received by the January 11, 2021 deadline.
The system will remain open from November 2, 2020, to January 11, 2021. The system will close at 4:00 pm Eastern Time (3:00 pm Central Time; 2:00 pm Mountain Time; 1:00 pm Pacific Time) on Monday, January 11, 2021, and additional submissions will not be accepted.
Note: The system may be slower on January 10 and 11 due to the higher volume of submissions. ASPHO is not responsible for abstracts that are not submitted by the deadline due to a slower system.
There will be a $25.00 USD fee per abstract to be paid by credit card. The fee will be collected at the end of the submission process, before the abstract can be submitted. Payment must be done online within the system during the time of submission (payment will not be taken in any other form such as by phone or check). NOTE: Your submission will not be considered 'complete' until the payment is processed and the abstract is submitted, so please take this step into consideration when you submit your proposal.
Submitters will be notified in February 2021 regarding selection of their abstract.
