ASPHO Strategic Plan
The American Society of Pediatric Hematology/Oncology (ASPHO) is a multidisciplinary organization dedicated to promoting the optimal care of children and adolescents with blood disorders and cancer by advancing research, education, treatment, and professional practice.
To serve our membership in their quest to improve the health and well-being of children with blood disorders and cancers.
ASPHO’s 2010 plan has served to guide its future direction and will be reviewed in 2016 as part of a comprehensive process including member input. The plan includes the following four overarching goals:
Leadership: ASPHO will be recognized by the global pediatric hematology/oncology community as the leading organization and as advocating for pediatric hematology/oncology. ASPHO's membership will expand domestically and internationally.
Committees that support this goal include Advocacy, Membership and Communications.
Education: ASPHO's educational opportunities will expand to fulfill identified education gaps of members.
Committees that support this goal include Certification and Continuing Education, Program, Review Course and the Clinical Practice Guidelines
Career: ASPHO members will recognize the Society as an important resource for practice management, professional development, and training of pediatric hematologists/oncologists.
Committees that support this goal include Practice, Professional Development, Training, and Workforce Strategy Advisory Group
Administration: ASPHO will build its financial strength to ensure stability and enable investment in new programs to benefit members and ensure the most effective and efficient governance structure to meet the changing needs of the organization.
