A 7-year-old girl presents with two weeks of abdominal discomfort and flank pain.
Over the past month, her mother has also noticed episodes of facial flushing, sweating, heat intolerance, acne, increased appetite with weight gain, and progressive skin darkening in the neck folds and antecubital fossa. She additionally reports early pubertal changes, including breast development, body odor, and pubic hair growth, as well as intermittent headaches.
An abdominal ultrasound reveals an intra-abdominal mass. A subsequent CT abdomen identifies a 5.2cm heterogeneously enhancing right adrenal mass. CT chest and bone scan show no evidence of metastatic disease.
