ASPHO's award program honors outstanding individuals in the hematology/oncology profession. Each year, individuals are honored for their contributions and discoveries in the subspecialty.
Applications and nominations for the 2018 Distinguished Career Award, the Frank A. Oski Memorial Lectureship, and the George R. Buchanan Lectureship are now open. Please click the links below to learn more about the eligibility requirements for each award and to submit your nomination.
Distinguished Career Award
The Distinguished Career Award is presented annually by ASPHO to a senior physician or other professional who during his or her career has had a major impact on the subspecialty through some combination of research, education, patient care, and advocacy.
Frank A. Oski Memorial Lectureship Award
The annual Frank A. Oski Memorial Lectureship remembers Dr. Frank Oski and honors an outstanding clinical or laboratory investigator in pediatric hematology/oncology whose cutting-edge research is of the caliber of the investigations made by Dr. Oski.
George R. Buchanan Lectureship
The George R. Buchanan Lectureship Award is to honor Dr. Buchanan and assure that future generations of pediatric hematology/oncology specialists are aware of his significant contribution to ASPHO and the field.
The ASPHO Young Investigator Award recognizes excellence in research in pediatric hematology/oncology. Fellows and faculty members who are less than 4 years post-fellowship are eligible for the award.
Funded by the Enriching the Future program, ASPHO awards pediatric hematology/oncology fellows with travel stipends to the annual meeting. The award allows fellows to present their abstracts in platform sessions at the annual meeting.
International Travel Award
Funded by the Enriching the Future program, the International Travel Awards make it financially possible for physicians from developing countries to participate in the ASPHO annual meeting.
Clinician Educator Award
Funded by the Enriching the Future program, the Clinician Educator Award supports the career development of promising pediatric hematology/oncology educators.
St. Baldrick's Foundation Robert J. Arceci Innovation Award
The St. Baldrick’s Foundation established a unique award in loving memory of Dr. Bob Arceci. Two St. Baldrick's Foundation Robert J. Arceci Innovation Awards will be made per year, one to a U.S. researcher to be presented at the ASPHO meeting, and one international award to be presented at the SIOP meeting.
