2018 Call for Nominations
The ASPHO Nominating Committee is soliciting nominations for candidates for Vice President, two (2) Board of Trustees-at-Large and two (2) Nominating Committee members.
Members are encouraged to nominate regular or international members who are in good standing for a minimum of three years. The elected candidates will take office at the close of the 2018 Conference in Pittsburgh, PA.
Positions and Responsibilities
The Vice President will serve a two-year term (2018-2020) then ascend to the office of President (2020-2022) for an additional two-year term, then complete their service as Immediate Past President (2022-2024) for a final two-year term.
Trustee-at-Large responsibilities include setting organizational direction and strategic planning, stewardship of the society and its assets, representing the needs of the membership, and serving as Board Liaisons to committees. The Board typically meets eight times per year (six times by conference call and twice in person). Trustees-at-Large will serve a three-year term. View current Board of Trustee members.
Responsibilities for Nominating Committee members include soliciting nominations and developing a slate of candidates for officer, Trustee-at-Large, and Nominating Committee positions. The Nominating Committee’s work typically entails one conference call as well as communication with selected candidates. Nominating Committee members will serve a three-year term.
With ASPHO’s continuing commitment to diversity, the following gaps have been identified in the Board and Nominating Committee for the coming term. While all regular and international members may be nominated, nominees will be strongly considered by the committee if they have any of the following attributes:
- hematology focus
- small/medium institution
How to Nominate
The ASPHO Nominating Committee requests that all nominations be as complete as possible. For each nominee, complete the survey form (including the nominee’s name, current position and academic rank, areas of interest, ASPHO involvement, professional activities and qualifications) along with submission of the nominee’s Biosketch. Members may submit as many nominations for each position as they please, and can choose to self-nominate.
Nomination deadline: Friday, November 10, 2017
